Elsevier's Journal of Clinical Virology in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the publication of a special supplement entitled 'Update on HIV Diagnostic Testing Algorithms'. This timely supplement contains articles which summarize studies since the 2010 US HIV Diagnostics Conference validating the proposed new US HIV diagnostic testing algorithm. Merck And The ADAP Crisis Task Force Announce New Agreement To Improve Access And Care For People With HIV

FDA OKs HIV Drug For Children
The US Food and Drug Administration has announced that it approves the expanded use of an important anti viral drug used to treat HIV infections. Isentress is an antiretroviral drug produced my Merck & Co. It was first approved in October 2007 and was the first of a new class of anti HIV drugs known as integrase inhibitors. Known pharmaceutically as raltegravir, Isentress targets an HIV enzyme called integrase, which allows the virus to combine genetic code into human chromosomes. It is thought to be a critical step in breaking the secrets of the HIV virus.
